Mani As Holy Spirit
“The Living Spirit that gave help to the First Man, he also today is the Paraclete-Spirit.” -Manichaean Psalms
In the Manichaean Mythos, the Living Spirit is the greater Demiurge that creates the universe and appoints His Five Sons as it overseers. In this important Manichaean Psalm, quoted above, we are told that the Living Spirit is the third member of the Trinity - the Holy Spirit. We know from other Manichaean writings that Mani was considered a incarnation of the Paraclete promised by Yeshu (Jesus). The Paraclete is the Holy Spirit.

We are also told:

"When our teacher Lao-Tzu went to the region of the West, he became (reincarnated as) Mani Buddha." - Chang Hsi-sheng, 1264 A.D.
