Manichaean Chinese Temple

Manichaean temple, Huabiaoshan, Jinjian County, Quanzhou

A Manichaean temple built during the Yuan Dynasty is located at Huabiao Mountain, in southwest Jinjiang County adjacent to Quanzhou. It is the only Manichaean temple to survive anywhere in the world (Lieu 1985:ix, 312-313), all others being destroyed through centuries of persecution.
