Love & Goodness
Nazorean Harmlessness
"Judas said, "Tell me, Lord, what is the beginning of the Path." He (Jesus) said, "Love and Goodness."   - The Dialogue of the Savior, Nag Hammadi
The Beginning of the Essene Nazorean Path is Love and Goodness. Without a desire to be loving and good, a person cannot begin to walk the Living Path of Yeshu (Gnostic Jesus) and Miryai (Mary Magdalene). We must plant within ourselves the seed of compassion and the wish for quick enlightenment (bodhicitta) so that we may more quickly end the suffering of all beings. Jesus once said:
"Be calm, be loving unto others, be gentle, be peaceful, be merciful, give tithes, help the poor and sick and distressed, be devoted to Deity, be righteous, be good that ye may receive the Mysteries of the Light and go on high into the Light Land."-  Yeshu (Jesus) Pistis Sophia 102

VEGAN DIET & AHIMSA LIFESTYLE
A Vegan lifestyle is necessary in order to become truly loving and good. It can be proven from early records that Christ required all of his disciples to develop compassion and to be pure vegetarians (vegans). This was part of the Nazorean tradition that Yeshu (Jesus) grew up with and he taught such until his death. The imperfect Biblical record does not reflect this but older more authentic Scrolls do.  Epiphanius tells us that the earliest Nazorean New Testament, preserved by the Ebionites, speaks of Christ's warning to stop killing animals:
They (Ebionites) say that Christ . . . came and declared, as their Gospel, which is called Gospel according to Matthew, or Gospel According to the Hebrews, reports: "I am come to do away with sacrifices, and if you cease not sacrificing, the wrath of God will not cease from you. (Epiphanius,  Panarion 30.16,4-5)
Early Nazoreanism also  taught:
"The unnatural eating of the Flesh of Animals is as polluting as the Heathen Worship of Devils, with its Sacrifices and its impure Feasts, man becomes a fellow eater with Devils". (Clementine Homiles)
Yeshu (Jesus) also taught kindness and love toward humans, In an ancient authentic scroll preserved from earliest Christianity we read:
'And never, saith he, by ye joyful, save when ye behold your brother with love.' - Hebrew Gospel fragment
To be a good person and to lay a proper spiritual foundation for a quality spiritual life it is important to cease harming other living creatures as much as possible. By embracing an all plant diet and lifestyle we cease to directly or indirectly harm as many innocent creatures as we do when we eat a diet which includes non vegan items.  Becoming a Vegan is the first requirement of FULL membership in the Order of Nazorean Essenes. (Honorary Members are encouraged but not required to be Vegan!) In the first of the Order's 32 Fold Confessions it says:
"If, O Great Life, we have sinned in any way against the five kinds of living beings: the two-legged, four-legged, those that fly, those in the waters, or those that crawl on their bellies – if we  should have hurt or frightened them, stolen or used  their milk, eggs, or body parts in any manner,  participated in the preparing, serving or eating of their flesh or oozings, or benefited directly or indirectly from their death or torture - then we now, O Great Life, pray to be forgiven." (New 32 Fold Confession)
The 10 Commandments of the Nazorean Faith stress this call to goodness. In fact, goodness is such an intrical part of the true Gospel Message that God is called "The Good" in ancient texts, and an ancient adage is "Good is the Good to the good". This means that the Good God will be good to all who practice goodness - it is the foundation of the Path of Life.
