Does the Order engage in loose moral behavior |
Morals
of the Order of Nazorean Essenes
"If one cannot assault the philosophy
of ... the Gnostics, slander them morally, make them hypocritical
demons, and then the difficult philosophy can be backgrounded. It
is an old and time-honored tradition of the black-hearted."
- Richard Taylor, Theospophical Magazine
The Essene philosophy on sexuality is different than the
traditional Christian one. Ancient Essenes, walking in perfect harmony
with nature, understood and appreciated the natural and biological urges
and drives that influence humanity. They did not consider these urges,
or the resultant sexuality, as dirty, evil or defiling. Ancient Essenes
did, however, teach that sexual urges, like all natural urges, should be
controlled and allowed to manifest only in an appropriate, responsible
and natural manner. The modern Order of Nazorean Essenes teaches sexual
control and responsible behavior.
